Information for Outgoing Students

In principle, you can complete a theoretical study semester at any university that offers technical and business modules. However, high tuition fees are quite common abroad.

The concept of partner universities involves a mutual, semester-by-semester exchange of students. This means that for every outgoing student, an incoming student is allowed to come to our university and vice versa - both without having to pay for tuition! However, this means that we only have a limited number of free contingents available at the partner universities each semester.

The Faculty of Industrial Engineering currently has international cooperations with 20 partner universities, which you can review under Global Partners on the left.

The advantage of the existing exchange programs is that you are exempt from tuition fees at the partner university within the framework of the cooperation agreements, among other things the recognition of study and examination achievements is clarified and the partner universities sometimes provide assistance in finding accommodation and visa matters.

The workload associated with the courses varies at the individual partner universities, and the curricula also differ. Therefore, you must take care of the courses to be taken and obtain the recognition of study and examination achievements before your stay abroad.

Good foreign language skills are an important prerequisite for your successful stay abroad. Therefore, it is not advisable to start studying abroad and taking language courses at the same time. For language preparation for studying abroad, there are also numerous offers at our university that you can take advantage of. A language course at the host university is also a good way to improve your existing foreign language skills, especially in technical language.

In addition, you should inform yourself in advance about the living conditions and the educational system of the host country. You can find good tips on this at the DAAD's country information.
