Qualification objectives for our graduates

Our graduates will be well prepared for management tasks mainly in industrial enterprises and be able to make ethically justifiable decisions of an operational and strategic nature, as well as to plan and implement appropriate measures in accordance with technical, operational and social consequences.

Depending on their specialisation, the graduates have deeper specialist and methodological knowledge in one of the following areas:

  • Production technology and management
  • Technical product management

As a study program with three different versions this graduate program aims to supplement the already existing skills spectrum of graduates of business and engineering studies with the specialist and methodological knowledge they need for a successful professional activity as an industrial engineer.

The mentioned specialisations will enable all students of our graduate program to work on a complex application-related question of the engineering and management field within a given timeframe of six months, independently of the appropriate scientific methodological instrument and a volume of about 100 pages.

Since this work is to be carried out in collaboration with a company, graduates will expand their knowledge already acquired in the first degree studies and get to know application fields requiring higher-level scientific abilities. They are able to classify the questions addressed in the written work within the context of a colloquium in a broad professional context, present adequately and defend scientifically based theses. The study program qualifies in addition for a doctorate program.

Pre-qualification Engineering & Management

Students with the pre-qualification in Engineering & Management will deepen their technical and economic expertise and methodological competences in the fields of design, international business and information management. They will be able to assess e.g. important materials (especially alloys) and heat-treating processes, use computer-assisted design methods, use their scientific and technical understanding to evaluate and explain complex technologies, or to recognize them as forward-looking in the future course of technological development;

  • they will use their knowledge of international accounting, international and intergovernmental law in assessment or location decisions, weighing the opportunities and risks of internationalization, also from a cultural-theoretical point of view, to apply targeted strategies for dealing with polycultural organizations and projects;
  • they will utilise data warehouse systesm (e.g. SAP BW, Jedox Palo) for data modeling, data acquisition and reporting, select and use complex methods of statistical data analysis.

Pre-qualification Business Administration

Students with the pre-qualification in Business Administration first acquired basic knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering and their most important cutting and machining processes during their compulsory 20-day technical pre-study internship.

At the end of their studies, they broadened their professional spectrum by understanding the natural sciences and technical contexts of two main areas of engineering. Students will be able to assess possible applications of machine components as well as power engines based on their mathematic, science and technical drawing knowledge.

Basic knowledge of electrical engineering allows them to understand and assess electrical drives. They can evaluate both metallic, inorganic and polymeric materials, production processes as well as special materials, especially alloys, heat-treating processes technically and economically. They understand the process and methodology of a product development process, can implement a given product idea by using the business skills of their first degree from concept planing to product documentation - taking into account the business knowledge together with students from other pre-qualification.

Pre-qualification Engineering

Students with the pre-qualification in Engineering have extended their professional spectrum to include an understanding of business and economic as well as law basics and main areas of operational and strategic management. Students will be able to understand the economic dimension of the engineering profession as well as the main tasks based on their mathematics, business and international economic knowledge and principles. They understand essential instruments of operational and strategic management, especially controlling, marketing and logistics, and can use them in a solution-oriented manner.

They understand the process and methodology of a product development process and can implement a given product idea by using business skills of their first degree from concept planing to product documentation - taking into account the business knowledge together with students from other pre-qualification.
